Happy Birthday McGruff!

For 29 years, McGruff the Crime Dog has been helping people protect what matters to themselves, their families, and their communities. Through public service announcements, personal appearances, and crime prevention efforts across the country, he is still helping people stay safe. Whether he's appearing  on the Web, on TV, in the newspaper, in books, or in any other medium, he is recognized by children and adults as a symbol of safety and protection.

Among his most important campaigns

• Teaching children how to prevent bullying and cyberbullying
• Helping people keep their personal information private to prevent identity theft
• Empowering people to help keep their neighborhoods safe
• Teaching seniors how to spot and avoid fraud and scams
