When teens are victimized, service providers and first responders must find a way to balance respecting teens’ rights as victims and recognizing that teens are minors and don’t have the same rights as adults. This four-part booklet offers suggestions and best practices and can guide your agency’s policies for working with teen victims. The booklet covers mandatory reporting when providing victim services to teens, communicating with teen victims, developing boundaries when working with teen victims, and conducting outreach to youth and building partnerships with schools.
