NCPC President and CEO One of 150 Most Influential Blacks in America
The National Crime Prevention Council is proud to announce that Alfonso E. Lenhardt, president and CEO, was selected as one of the 150 Most Influential Blacks in America that appeared in the May 2007 issue of Ebony magazine.
Established in 1963, Ebony’s presentation of “The Ebony Power 150” highlights individuals who have the ability to influence a substantial segment of the black population. The magazine called the list “one of the most accurate collections of leadership, power, and influence in Black America…a Who’s Who in Black America.”
Mr. Lenhardt was listed as one of the 52 most influential organization leaders. Three criteria determined placement on this list: nominees had to be CEOs of organizations with influence beyond their field, the organizations had to be broad-based national groups with mass membership, and the organizations had to have an ongoing program affecting the vital interests of African Americans.

National Crime Prevention Association Debuts
Complementing NCPC’s Crime Prevention Coalition of America will be the new National Crime Prevention Association (NCPA), which debuts in July 2007. The NCPA’s goal will be to provide a national resource to enhance and promote crime prevention and personal development by promoting information sharing, education, and professional camaraderie. Training courses will run the gamut from physical security to loss prevention to credit card protection. Classes will be offered in person, online, and through computer-based learning. The NCPA seeks to bring together a multidisciplinary array of members including those in the banking and finance industry, hospital personnel, campus crime prevention officers, port and harbor security personnel, and more.
