NCJRS Spotlights Identity Theft
The National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) has created a new online resource, In the Spotlight: Identity Theft. This spotlight provides information on identity theft and phishing and includes links to related publications, statistics, legislation, training opportunities, and other resources. In the Spotlight: Identity Theft is available on the NCJRS website at www.ncjrs.org/spotlight/identity_theft/summary.html.
OJJDP Launches Truancy Prevention Website
The new Truancy Prevention website draws on the expertise and resources of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. It offers a range of truancy-related prevention resources to educators, law enforcement agencies, court personnel, and the general public.
In addition to an overview of truancy issues, the site presents promising strategies for reducing truancy and resources for training, technical assistance, research, and evaluation. Because truancy is a complex problem requiring a comprehensive response, the website focuses on partnership-building strategies designed to help children reach their fullest potential. The home page alerts users to upcoming conferences on truancy, recent publications, and other important announcements.
