To help celebrate McGruff's 25th anniversary, three new radio public service advertisements have been released. The ads offer tips for neighborhood safety. In one spot McGruff is interviewed by Joy Behar, co-host of ABC's The View. In the course of their conversation, McGruff and Behar let listeners know of ways they can "Take A Bite Out Of Crime" in their homes and neighborhoods. In the other two spots, McGruff talks about using garden shears to attack shrubs and other areas that could provide hiding places for would-be criminals. He suggests that starting a conversation or just saying hello to your neighbor can be a starting point for community action to reduce crime in the community.
"It's a major feat to have an icon like McGruff make a significant impact in protecting public safety for 25 years," said Al Lenhardt, NCPC president and CEO. "His silver anniversary has shown us that we have many golden opportunities to continue his message."
