USHERO is an all volunteer 501C3 organization headquartered in Austin. We are working to set up local teams around Texas to train in search, rescue, recovery and disaster response that would be available to their local agencies to assist at no cost in times of need. Members receive certifications from the SFFMA (State Firemen's & Fire Marshal's Association of Texas). We are a multi-disciplined organization specializing in Wilderness, Light Urban, K9, Water and Technicial rescues. Also setting up Support Teams to assist local SAR teams. Teams also support their communities by providing training and education in these areas such as with the Hug A Tree program. Academy classes are currently going on monthly in Dallas and Austin, Texas.
