Hearts for Victims
The community lost a beautiful girl last year, Norma Lopez. Norma. 17, was walking home from summer school when she was kidnapped and murdered. The community will recognize Norma and others who have been lost as the result of violence. Organizers want young people especially to remember her so that they stay alert to danger. There will be all kinds of safety prevention materials at this event, and loved ones will be able to write notes on hearts that will be posted on local trees. Bands will play love songs. It will be a day to remember.
