Circle of Respect Interview with Sandra McLeod-Humphrey
Hot Issues, Cool Choices: Facing Bullies, Peer Pressure, Popularity, and Put-Downs is a collection of 26 vignettes depicting various forms of bullying with thought questions following each vignette. Although the vignettes have been fictionalized to some extent, they are all based on true bullying experiences related to me by students during my school visits, and the book is dedicated to a 12-year-old Minnesota boy who took his own life as a result of being bullied. The book has received very positive endorsements from nationally recognized educators and is the recipient of a 2008 Mom’s Choice Gold Award, a 2009 Young Voices Foundation Silver Award, and a 2009 Readers Favorite Gold Award.
