The Law and You
Workshop description
Participants at this training session will receive a copy of the completely revised second edition of the The Law and You, a free kit that helps law enforcement officers and teens talk candidly about how young people can make the best of enforcement situations. Four vignettes (loud party, traffic stop, shoplifting suspect, and drug transaction) offer neutral ground for discussions, and the extended guide helps make the most of these tools. The session will review the materials and how a sample vignette might be presented and discussed. The kit was developed by the National Crime Prevention Council with the support of The Allstate Foundation as a public service. The kit contains a video tape of the four vignettes, handout materials, evaluation forms, and information on ordering additional materials.
