This new training course uses Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to address neighborhoods that are plagued with abandoned properties and foreclosed homes. Learn how to use CPTED’s four principles – natural access control, surveillance, territoriality, and maintenance – to improve your community, your neighborhood, and/or your home.

TRAINING GOAL
To discuss the leading causes of abandoned and foreclosed property and develop a comprehensive CPTED-based strategy that includes law enforcement, city government and the entire community. This strategy will provide a process for revitalizing your neighborhoods, and improving and promoting a safe and secure living environment.
Training will occur this year at the following Weed and Seed sites:
