Verona Celebrates Safe Communities Month
Verona Police Chief Leo Mask will lead a city-wide effort to eduate citizens and reduce crime on October 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In observance of National Crime Prevention Month, Verona will celebrate Safe Communities Day on October 10, 2009. The time is 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.on South College Street at the Stage. We are partnering with the National Sheriff’s Association, the National Crime Prevention Council, The Department of Justice, and others to provide materials to educate citizens about crime and solicit volunteers to step up in order to protect their neighborhoods by learning how to organize Neighborhood Watch, Citizens Patrol, and more.
Chief Leo Mask will lead this initiative along with elected officials, law enforcement, businesses, schools, seniors, citizens, children, etc.
We are asking your full cooperation to make this a fun, informative day. There will be musical entertainment, demonstrations, speakers, and coloring book contest.. Free hand outs and free food! Be sure to visit each booth!!
