NCPC developed these audio PSAs to respond quickly to crime with prevention tips.
The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) has developed ten rapid response public service announcements (PSAs) for radio. Each PSA addresses timely topics such as home invasion, school shootings, crimes against seniors, sexual assault, and property theft. These PSAs can be used by the media, law enforcement, and NCPC to respond quickly to a community crime situation with proven prevention tips.
In addition to the ten PSAs, the kit features live announcer scripts that let local media and law enforcement respond with personalized messages to their community when a crime takes place.
The initiative is in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The radio spots were created by IKA Collective and distributed by the Ad Council. As part of the partnership between NCPC and BJA, a second set of new radio messages will be added in the coming months.
